We're back from Nashville. We've resumed building. If you like what you heard, go check out our Reverb store here.
We will be demoing the Film Noir 50 during the Winter Namm in Anaheim from January 25th through 28th. Come see us in hall E, at booth 1450 (which, intuitively enough, is at the very end of the 1800 / 1900 row). We'll also have an open prototype of the upcoming single channel amp. Come on by, say hi, and try out the amp!
This is cool: the Balthazar Film Noir 50 shown in a Reverb demo highlighting the musical machines required to sound like Syd Barrett on Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. Thanks to Jim Tuerk for including the Balthazar!
As I start building the second batch of amps, one thing that hopefully improves the consistency of the electronics is using a CNC router. The first attempt came back and looks very nice. Also a nice "hello world" to future electricians who may stumble upon it.
Because a guitar riff speaks more than a thousand words, I had some great guitar players try out the Film Noir 50 in a variety of styles. Although recorded simply, I hope these clips give a sense of the variety of tones this amp is able to produce. The clips are here. Thanks for listening!
Balthazar Audio Systems is proud to announce the release of our first guitar amplifier, the FILM NOIR 50, a hand wired point-to-point 50W amp built in Chicago!
